Last Waltzon
Born from camaraderie and chaos, the four-piece art punk group based in Montreal was formed in 2021. Bonding over bands like Women and The Velvet Underground, they crafted a euphonious noise characterized by unhinged punk vigor fused with pop sensibilities.
Their sound channels the raw vocal power of The Sonics' Gerry Roslie and The Fall's Mark E. Smith, paired with hazy guitars reminiscent of Chicago's Twin Peaks and the angular rhythms of 1970s CAN records. Live, they deliver infectious performances filled with spontaneous onstage antics, fostering an energetic exchange with their audience.
Recording at Holy Mountain Sound in downtown Montreal, with mixing by Chris Szczech (known for The Garden and Goo Goo Dolls), Last Waltzon’s catalog reflects their sonic diversity. They’ve shared stages with acts like The Psychotic Monks, Lifeguard, The Serfs, as well as Montreal local favorites No Waves and Pypy.
