Originally middle school friends from Northern California, My Son The Doctor is Joel Kalow (guitar), Matt Nitzberg (bass), Brian Hemmert (vocals), and John Mason (drums).

The Brooklyn, NY group is known in DIY circles for their schvitz-y live shows and bastardization of 90s slacker rock and post-punk. Since forming in 2019, they have established themselves as a must-see band with their electric live shows and “Spiky, danceable indie rock that pulls influence from everyone from Gang of Four to The Strokes" (Brooklyn Vegan).
