Levin Goes Lightly

Levin goes lightly would play alongside David Bowie at SO36 in the 80s and is part of the current Berlin scene, even though he doesn't live here. Berghain bouncer Sven Marquart considers him an inspiration. He appears in shiny make-up like a bird of paradise and yet remains the cool prince of darkness. Levin Goes Lightly's music is a mixture of post-punk, dream pop and synthwave. The Stuttgart-based musician (who lives in an old train wagon) began releasing music in the early 2010s and has gained attention for his atmospheric sound and melancholic lyrics. Levin Goes Lightly's music is often characterized by haunting vocals, minimalist production and atmospheric electronic elements that create an otherworldly and introspective mood. His albums such as "Neo Romantic" and "Nackt" have earned him a loyal following in the indie music scene and established him as a unique voice in contemporary German underground music. His songs alternate between the muted languages of German and English. He has been played live on the BBC by Iggy Pop and featured on Trentemøller compilations alongside The KVB, Black Marble and Slow Dive. His new album "Numb" will be released at the end of October 2024.
