PYPY
This Montreal supergroup is called PYPY (π π) and their music is a concoction of sinister wah-wah freakouts littered with distortion and the necromantic screams of co-vocalist Annie-Claude Deschênes. A surreal and trash-futuristic universe, created by the lunatic minds behind CPC Gangbangs, Red Mass and Duchess Says. With Super disco breaks reminiscent of dance punk from NYC's legendary 99 Records (ESG/Liquid Liquid) weaved through psych rock hymns. The thunderous pop of their banger "She's Gone" even carved out a place for itself in the high-end fashion world, becoming the soundtrack to Yves Saint Laurent's 2016 show.
Becoming favourites in the European festival circuit, PYPY offers crazy oddball performances that break the standards of the traditional rock show. Their new album “Sacred Times” is out now on the legendary record label GONER RECORDS. The album has played steadily on the College radio charts getting all the way up to #1 on the Nov 19 !earshot Top 50 chart. and #2 on the NACC Canada chart.
