Shiho Yabuki

Musician - Shiho YABUKI studied classical piano from age 5. Her first ever performance of electronic musical instruments was at the Konpon Chudo Hall for the 1200th anniversary of the founding of the world heritage site of Mt. Hiei Enryakuji Temple in Kyoto. In 1989, her solo CD “Purple Sails" was released in the U.S. by San Francisco-based label Hearts of Space, Inc. and her CD landed at Canada's second most popular New Age genre. She volunteered to hold ‘New York Prayer’ concerts in New York, following the ‘9/11’ tragedies. Shiho was also selected to participate in the Grammy-nominated "Environmental Music" CD series which also featured YMO and Joe Hisaishi. She has most recently collaborated with composer and artist Morgan Fisher for the CD "When Two Rivers Meet" featuring multiple track improvisations. The intro, melody, and accompaniment can be played in an instant. Shiho's father even suspected that she had prepared the improvisation the day before because it was so complete.
