A discussion on the implementation of the Basic Income for Artists Pilot in Ireland and Guaranteed Incomes for artists in New York and across the US. The panel will examine the impact of basic/guaranteed incomes on artists and creative practice and explore how this model could be replicated elsewhere. The successful advocacy campaign for a basic income for artist’s pilot in Ireland and the lessons arising from the first year of its implementation will also discussed. The importance of advocacy by and for artists will be in the context of supports for creative practice.
