In a world with exponential population growth, plastic both solves problems (allowing the safe transport of food and medicine, for example) and presents obvious challenges. Today’s recycling system recovers some used plastic, but not anywhere near enough; roughly 90% of plastics aren’t being recycled. Newer, more advanced recycling technologies can dramatically increase the types and amount of plastic that can be reincarnated for new uses. Get an inside look at how the process is changing and explore what we, as consumers and businesses, can do to encourage advanced recycling.
