Generative AI is developing at a rapid pace, upending the lives of some while opening new opportunities for others. We are certain that despite rapid technological advancement, within a year we still won’t have settled on public interest approaches to the challenges of credit, consent, and compensation for digital creators. How do we balance the needs of creators whose lives are being disrupted by these technologies, with the promise these advancements afford others? Are there public solutions that already exist, or could be developed as a model?
