Book reading from I Thought I Heard You Speak: Women At Factory Records. Factory Records has come to life in dozens of books and films, yet none of those accounts recognize how women did vital work to make the indie label and its (in)famous nightclub The Haçienda hum. This book is a narrative oral history told entirely from the voices of those women, featuring interviews from more than 75 trailblazing musicians, sound engineers, DJs, filmmakers, and more who broke barriers in a male-dominated industry.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
