The No. 1 Killer of Kids in the US? Guns

Mar 9, 2024

4:00pm – 5:00pm CT

American children are more likely to die by gun violence than any other cause. Data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals nearly 3,600 children died in gun-related incidents in 2021, or about 5 in every 100,000. Firearms accounted for roughly 20 percent of deaths of Americans younger than 18. In no other developed country do firearms rank among the top four causes of mortality among children, making gun violence an epidemic devastating our youngest Americans. This panel of experts and survivors will discuss the scope of the problem and share practical solutions.
