Fraud reportedly accounts for 3%–10%+ of streams, amounting to $100m+ sucked from the recordings business each year. If we are to stop bad actors from gaming chart positions and diluting the royalty pool, we must all work together to stamp out these practices. With the Music Fights Fraud alliance, advancing platform tools and new resources from independent trade bodies, action is ramping up. This Association of Independent Music-organized panel will review where the battle lines are drawn, consider how AI may impact this space and, crucially, how we can all play our part in beating streaming fraud.
