#UnhideTheWeb

Date TBA

How do we fix decades of accessibility bias online? Media, like images, clips, and GIFs, are essential to how we communicate, express ideas, and spread joy, but what is the experience like for people who access the web in alternative ways? These media types have hidden descriptive HTML tags with the power to make them accessible or inaccessible to millions who are blind, low vision, or use assistive technologies. This panel brings together Disabled users, artists, and advocates to discuss the impact of media on the disability community and realize a future web that is accessible and inclusive.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
