How Gene Editing Is Fueling a Health Revolution
CRISPR is hailed as one of the most revolutionary discoveries in modern biology, enabling cures for genetic diseases once thought to be untreatable. At SXSW, Dr. Janice Chen would explore how gene editing will dramatically improve the lives of people with genetic illnesses, and what a future could look like in which CRISPR and programmable biology are as ubiquitous as the internet. Chen will explore what’s next for the field of gene editing, from the discovery of new gene editing tools in nature, to how everyday people may one day interact with gene-editing technology on a daily basis.
