This session will launch Shain Shapiro's debut book, This Must Be The Place: How Music Can Make Your City Better, while also asking - with invited guests - is music really doing that and how we must improve now to incorporate music more into solving the greatest challenges we face in our cities and places. Using the book as a backdrop, he will explain a few case studies explored in the book and then moderate a discussion about music's role in fighting the biggest challenges we face - gun violence, systemic racism and the climate emergency.
