Big Tech’s Big Diversity Problem
A global survey of women and non-binary technologists conducted by AnitaB.org found that 100% of respondents reported harassment in their workplace. What’s more, intentionally exploited communities – including Black, Latine, Asian-Pacific Islander, and Indigenous women, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ people – further experienced detrimental behavior and actions. Empowerment has been replaced by performative actions, creating a leadership gap and constant revolving door. What if we built a world where the tech we use and depend on daily was created by people who look like us and share our lived experiences?
