Food resilience is typically defined as the ability of supply chains and systems to withstand major disruptions from natural disasters. But what if we considered food resilience as a key component of community resilience, particularly on a local scale? This panel will explore how initiatives like the USDA’s Local Food Promotion Grant, the food-as-medicine movement and farmers-first markets and local agriculture can not only increase the resilience of our food systems but of our communities, as well.
