The Great Dislocation: Global Crises vs Tech Capital Flows

Mar 15, 2024

11:30am – 12:30pm CT

There is a great dislocation between the claim that tech can save the world and how tech capital flows. An enormous cohort of founders is best positioned to tackle global challenges: they come from places where problems are; advocate for open source; and see beyond infinite profit and power. Yet globally less than 10% of venture capital goes into emerging markets. This session will challenge current models of tech development, equity and power distribution. Learn how UNICEF is one of the biggest funders of open-source startups and meet three founders who can actually claim that they “make a world a better place” with tech.
