The SXSW Community Service Awards celebrate leaders and non-profit organizations from Austin and around the world who work tirelessly to improve the standing of the specific groups and causes that they serve.
This program was launched to honor the memory of SXSW Interactive co-founder Dewey Winburne and remains true to the vision that grassroots community activism is the most essential building block for progressive change on a much larger societal level.
The five honorees for 2024 are as follows: Angelique Albert (Native Forward Scholars Fund), Brenda Darden Wilkerson (Anita B Foundation), Celia Hughes (Art Spark Texas), Jeb Gutelius (The Ally Coalition), and Ross Minor (Game Accessiblity Consultant)
The SXSW Community Service Awards occur within the SXSW Innovation Awards at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 11 in Ballroom D on the top floor of the Austin Convention Center. Doors open at 6pm for drinks and light snacks.
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
