Pivots are a 3 piece UK band based in Paris, fusing together elements of post-punk, shoegaze, sample-based music and pop. Their unique approach to writing and recording music has evolved from a selfless dedication to YouTube tutorials and love of high production DIY. Borrowing in equal parts from New Order and J Dilla, PIL and Working Men’s Club, the band have pioneered a unique brand of chaotic elegance, music that shifts from pure noise to lazer-guided tightness. After playing shows at friend’s parties, they play their first ever US show at SXSW, less than 3 months after forming the band. The show will make the release of their first ever single: “Residues”, produced and mixed by the band in their rehearsal studio, along with a video shot and edited by Pivots. Their new single is also touring as a mixed reality concert showcasing at SXSW March 11 at Ristband's OFFICIAL Future x Music Event at the Palm Door on 6th Street.
