Anna Smyrk at Zilker Brewing
With a voice described as ‘truly astonishing’ by Rolling Stone, Anna Smyrk is a powerful singer and songwriter from Australia. Her songs are indie pop bombshells pairing vulnerable lyrics with explosive arrangements and undeniable hooks.
The last few years have been massive for Anna. She recorded an EP in Nashville with producers Jake Finch and Collin Pastore (boygenius, Lucy Dacus); a smart, multi-layered offering filled with wry observations and muscular instrumentation. Singles were added to national rotation on Double J as well as MTV in Germany and Apple Music’s New Indie playlist globally.
She’s toured non-stop, supporting some of Australia’s biggest artists (Birds of Tokyo, Tim Rogers) and performing at Australia’s finest festivals. She’s showcased at events all over the world, including NXNE (Canada), Folk Alliance International (USA) and Live at Heart (Sweden).
Anna’s 2021 EP, a collection of long-distance love songs, was described as “cathartic” by Rolling Stone, while Backseat Mafia UK said the record “cemented her reputation as “a significant songwriter with an exceptional voice.”
2024 sees Anna touring the US for the first time and releasing her debut album.
