TEARS at La Factoria
Puerto Rican-born TEARS, found her love for music in her hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia where she fed off of the pop-punk scene. During her teenage years, she moved to Miami, Florida, a city known for its diverse, multilingual, and multicultural population. This change of environment not only was a culture shock for the artist but also played a part in influencing the sound and style she proudly embodies along with her carefree attitude toward expressing herself through her music.
After a life-changing experience from a tumultuous relationship, TEARS had no choice but to move to Texas with only $200 in her pocket and a newborn baby. This sudden shift fueled the singer/songwriter/producer to make music that she could share with others in the hopes of empowering and inspiring. Her unique vocals are distinctive and have the ability to project emotion throughout her songs. Her melodies and lyrics are fueled by her heartbreaks, traumas, and tribulations and inspired by the likes of Rihanna, Santigold, Ivy Queen, CocoRosie, and Gorillaz. This concoction of genres and influences has led TEARS to create a sound of her own.
