The Overland at Mohawk Indoor
The Overland is a new act on the rise from Tucson, Arizona. Blood cousins Aris Arvayo and Daniel Vildósola, deliver a haunting and evocative re-imagination of American vintage country, and blues. Influences from Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, Nick Cave, and Tom Waits can be heard in their music.
Their chemistry is evident in their live performances, where their raw energy and musicality come together. The band's name, The Overland, was inspired by a road trip where they came across a haunted hotel in Pioche, Nevada, which left a lasting impression on them. Their time in Tucson, New York City and London has influenced their sound, giving it a sense of adventure and wanderlust.
The Overland's debut album is set to release in fall of 2024, featuring a collection of songs that tell stories from the starry badlands where Latin and Anglo America bleed into one.
