HighSchool
“Potent indie pop that recalls early Beach Fossils, aspects of The Cure, while channeling elements of The Go-Betweens, but really they are forging fresh paths, & laying claim to a sound of their own.” CLASH
HighSchool are Rory Trobbiani & Luke Scott, a duo from Melbourne whose debut EP (Forever at Last) is a lo-fi gem. Championed by the likes of NME, The FADER, DIY, The Line of Best Fit & So Young, it served as a brilliant introduction.
Relocating to London from Melbourne in 2022, they toured with both CHVRCHES & NewDad before playing a summer of festivals. The autumn brought headline shows in the UK & across Europe, promoting not only their EP but also anthemic track ‘Only a Dream’ (a limited 7” on Dan Carey’s ever-great Speedy Wunderground label). They finished the year back home touring with Sam Fender on his Australian tour before headlining their own sold-out Melbourne show at The Corner Hotel.
Now signed to [PIAS], they've recorded their second EP with Finn Billingham (Sam Akpro, Sunken). Coming Spring 2024, it seamlessly builds on their debut. Primed by ‘August 19’, the first track to be aired, a richly atmospheric song that leans in on a bedroom pop sound.
