Mariangela at Rozco's
Mariángela discovered at a very young age the transformative and healing power of music. After teaching herself to play guitar and piano, she began composing songs that allowed her to ex- press her experiences and connect deeply with her audience, while representing the complexity of her life as a multicultural artist.
Born in the Mexican city of Monterrey and raised in Texas, Mariángela grew up surrounded by both iconic and trending songs from both sides of the border. Her sound is a perfect fu- sion of rock, pop and alternative instrumentals which incorporates folk and ballad melodies. She is inspired by the works of Natalia Lafourcade, Stevie Nicks, Mazzy Star, Natalia Jiménez, Pink Floyd and Pearl Jam, as well as the folklore of Veracruz, her father’s homeland. She found masters for her lyrics in Latin American poets Jaime Sabines (Mexico) and Mario Benedetti (Uruguay), also in Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.
Mariángela’s music is born on her guitar or piano, instruments she learned to play by herself, and become vehicles to share her experiences in songs that capture the essence of human emotions. Her lyrics and sounds transcend and beautifully allow her public to make them their
