Roxanne Harris is an artist-educator-curator-native of New York City engaged with live coding performance, projecting code to present decision-making processes with algorithmic transparency. She transforms her laptop into an instrument emphasizing virtuosity with keystrokes. Roxanne designs sensitive systems for playful reactivity, establishing parameters for improvisation within computational limitations. She organizes shows, facilitates workshops, and performs using Sonic Pi and Max/MSP/Jitter. She has presented at conferences and festivals, including the International Conference on Live Coding, Open Source Arts Contributor's Conference, South by Southwest, and Dweller Festival. She holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Music from Yale University. Embracing programming as an artistic medium, Roxanne rejects utilitarian efficiency, cultivating environments that nurture creative expression and critical perspectives while deconstructing and reconstructing structures as she goes.
