Cha'keeta B is a lyrical emcee from Austin Texas. She grew up listening to a plethora of artists and genres but her first love was always writing. Majority of her writings were inspired by artists / poets like Jill Scott. But her earliest memories of loving hip hop would probably be rapping lyrics from a Lauryn Hill song. Since 2011 she's accomplished things like ; Being featured on the cover of Austin Chronicle, performing as an official SXSW artist several times and opening up for mainstream artists like "Naughty By Nature" , “Tink” , “Wu-Tang Clan”, “Oshun” “Z-Ro” “Lil Keke” and many others. She's also known for bringing the community of Austin together for a good cause e.g : she's put together Christmas charity events like "Rap 4 A Reason" and Thanksgiving food drives for the homeless community. She also started a annual natural hair festival “Kinky Curly Coily Fest” celebrating black women, men and children with natural hair allowing them to embrace their natural selves and one another while also providing opportunities for artists and small businesses. Currently set to release her highly anticipated EP “Where the Wildflowers Grow” 12/12/2023.
