Izo FitzRoy

Mar 13, 2024

10:00pm – 10:40pm CT

St David's Historic Sanctuary

Raw, dynamic performances and honest song writing have become the trademark of gospel and blues singer songwriter Izo FitzRoy. After years spent directing gospel choirs in London, Izo's recording career took off in earnest after writing and recording the bulk of her debut album – ‘Skyline’ whilst living in New Orleans.

Izo released her most recent album 'A Good Woman' in April 2023, an album that is full of highs and lows addressing who Izo really is as a woman, railing against convention, wrangling shame and ultimately coming home to herself and her body. Gospel, jazz, blues, soul and folk are all present in her most accomplished album to date with her live band and gospel choir all replicating on record the magic she brings to her live shows.

Izo's unique sound has won her support across National Press and Radio: BBC 6Music, BBC London, JazzFM, a FIP Selection award, NPR, plus strong support from Clash Magazine, Wonderland, and Blues & Soul. 2023 has also seen Izo sell out shows across the UK and Europe culminating in an appearance on 'Later....with Jools Holland' and two sold out shows at legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.
