Rory James at The Creek and the Cave

Date TBA

Edinburgh-born Rory James creates electronic music with an edge. Think Caribou meets Jamie XX, with hints of James Blake. Influences ranging from Paul Simon and Elvis Costello to Talking Heads and Orange Juice are deliciously fused and intertwined with his love of all things house.

Following the release of his debut EP in April 2023, which attracted editorial support from Spotify (New Music Friday) and Apple Music, encouraging early plays from BBC Radio 1 and consistent love from BBC Scotland.

So far in 2023 Rory has performed at Connect Festival, as well as DJing the main stage (Fred Again, Young Fathers, Roisin Murphy); sellout first two headline shows in Scotland (King Tut’s in Glasgow and Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh); and support slots for the likes of Hot Chip, Joesef, Sam Gellaitry and Barry Can’t Swim.
Previous to this project, Rory’s band Bwani Junction - an African influenced indie rock band which he played in from his early teens - toured across Europe, Asia and Africa, in addition to tour supports with artists such as The 1975 and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
