Glasser at St David's Historic Sanctuary
Glasser (Cameron Mesirow)'s music explores themes of personal identity, emotional vulnerability, and human experience. Aside from 2022 single ‘New Scars’, new album ‘crux’ marks a return following her sublime ‘Sextape’ mix in 2018 and two acclaimed albums, ‘Ring’ and ‘Interiors’, released in 2010 and 2013 respectively. She’s collaborated with Fever Ray, Jamie XX and John Talabot. Raised in the Bay Area, Mesirow’s mother was a founding member of queer new wave band Human Sexual Response. Glasser crafted GarageBand demos that pitted her delicate, swooping vocals over sparse electronic rhythms and melodies that evoked avant-garde music and global folk. These tracks made their way to labels True Panther and Young, which released both her albums. She self-released ‘Sextape’, an intimate project that built her production around conversations on formative sexual experiences, which was praised universally, before signing to One Little Independent Records for crux - critically acclaimed worldwide. Fresh off the back of a headline European tour and Pitchfork Festival Mexico, her return to Austin this year will be an absolute must-see spectacle and soundscape.
