The most representative Taiwanese punk rock band ,Fire EX., was formed in the port city of Kaohsiung in 2000, and consists of Sam Yang (vocals, guitar), ORio (guitar), JC (bass) and KG (drums). 

Drawing on the essence of Japanese melodic punk bands such as Hi-Standard and HUSKING BEE, which have had a profound influence on them, their poetic lyrics laced with Taiwanese and strong stage presence instantly captured the hearts of young people of their own age, quickly becoming a hit and attracting a large and enthusiastic audience from their inception.  

Fire EX. has also been actively expanding their global presence, performing at CMJ in New York, CMW and SXSW in Canada, Summer Sonic in Japan, and in 2022 at the iconic Fuji Rock Festival. Fire EX. has also performed and co-creates with Japanese bands such as 10-FEET, locofrank, MOONEYES, and even organised Taiwan's first punk rock festival, FireBall Festival, which has taken Taiwan's punk scene to unprecedented heights.
