We believe telling sports stories is essential. Sports matter, especially when athletes themselves are the ones telling the stories. The dramatic underdog who triumphs in the face of difficult circumstances, the fighter picking themselves back up after being knocked to the ground countless times, and the athlete who has been considered an outsider based on their religion, race, gender etc., all have something essential to teach us.
