In the past few years, we have seen the success of podcast-to-television show development with critically acclaimed hit series like Dr. Death, The Dropout, The Shrink Next Door and others. The success of this path has been illustrated, but it begs the question: how can podcast creators take their series to the next level? How can content creators utilize the podcast medium to build a fandom, a franchise, and ultimately, a global brand?
This panel will explore the myriad ways in which podcasts can be utilized to expand existing IP or to build from the ground up. Whether it is the production of a companion podcast, the merchandising of an existing podcast or the international franchising of a translatable podcast format – it’s clear podcasting is a valuable resource in IP expansion.
