COVID-19, the lives it claimed, and the last few years represent a case study to measure against for response and preparedness. Today, the scientific and medical communities are hyper-focused on identifying and monitoring known and emerging pathogens that pose a risk to public health – Disease X represents the unknown pathogen, as designated by the WHO, with potential to cause a serious epidemic. Staying vigilant and developing a strategy for pandemic preparedness will require public-private partnerships that could transform our ability to prevent, detect and respond to pandemics, while harnessing the speed and scale afforded by platform technologies like mRNA. Panelists will discuss lessons learned and the path forward for creating global clinical trial networks and driving access.
