Menstrual Dignity: Taboos and Inequality

Recording: Menstrual Dignity: Taboos and Inequality, Date TBA

You may have heard about menstrual poverty, but how exactly do taboos around menstruation shape society and impact gender and socioeconomic inequalities? What’s the impact of this taboo on the lives of girls, women and people who menstruate?

All over the world, we witness the lack of access to menstrual products, decent bathrooms, basic sanitation and proper sexual education - in families, impoverished regions, indigenous communities and public policy. In order to break this cycle, we have to start at the root of the problem: the taboo. Learn about the challenges, advocacy and scalable sustainable interventions in Brazil that can help us change behavior and rebuild societies all over the world.

This panel is suitable for all audiences with a focus on the UN SDGs 1, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12.
