With 60k+ tracks uploaded to Spotify every single day, we are in the midst of an historic creator boom. Lots of this content is coming from bedroom creators who are powered by the rise of AI-music companies and music creation tools, and enabled by DIY distribution services. With the click of a button these creators, many of whom have never seen the inside of a studio, are creating chart toppers. Michael Huppe is one of the country’s most forward thinking executives and leads SoundExchange - the collective rights management organization designated by the U.S. Congress to collect and distribute digital performance royalties for sound recordings. Joining Huppe is singer-songwriter, JVKE. With more than 10 million TikTok followers who drive more than 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify, JVKE has successfully leveraged social media platforms to become a globally successful artist. Together, Michael Huppe and JVKE will discuss this new creator paradigm and how both creators and the industry are transforming to keep pace.
