Innovating Organ Transplant Supply Chains with UAS
In April 2019, a patient who had waited 8 years for a kidney transplant received their organ via the first ever drone delivery of a human organ intended for surgery. How did those events transpire? And three years later, what is the future of drones and organ deliveries? This panel brings together a transplant surgeon, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) expert, and leadership from an organ procurement organization (OPO) to discuss current innovations that will positively impact the organ transplant supply chain. Moderated by the former designer of Under Armour’s global supply chain, this session will highlight how MediGO’s next-gen supply chain platform integrates with UAS to improve healthcare resource efficiencies, save more lives and reduce costs associated with organ transplants.
