Since the advent of social media, the people tasked with “cleaning” the user generated content have largely performed their duties in complete secrecy. But with the creation of organizations like the Trust and Safety Professionals Association, the Digital Trust and Safety Partnership, and the Oversight Board companies are starting to shed light on what is happening behind the scenes and ask for help. As a result, the industry is beginning to create best practices, experiment with transparency, and coalesce around a few key themes. This panel will discuss what happens in the next 30 years as companies bring their cleaners out of the basement and the researchers, regulators, and rightsholders demand more transparency.
