When creating a startup, it's essential to have a vision for the future of where you are going. In my journey of founding GrubHub and leading it onto an IPO, I realized my starting goal was too small. I didn't think about the long-term impact of the decisions I made the first time around. I didn’t expect how it would change me to want to make a difference in the lives of my employees, my community, and even the world. Now in the process of growing my second startup, I'm not only implementing practices in my new organization to create a better business, but I want to get the word out to other entrepreneurs about growing an ethical, social impact startup. I believe personal vision matters. When you know what you stand for, you know how to make a difference in what matters to you.
