Seeding Activism Through Experience Design
Design that serves the Pleasure Principle is passé. It is no longer sufficient to design experiences that only provoke wonder and awe; we live in times that are challenging us with climate chaos, racial injustice, neocolonialism, and out of control capitalism. These challenging times warrant more thoughtful and introspective experiences that can help seed activism in sustainability and global social justice. In this panel, we'll hear from innovative designers and artists who tackle these complex topics, and ask how designers can create new experiences that audiences can use not just for entertainment, but as a scaffold for growth and empowerment.
