How TCM Brings Classic Film to Today's Audiences
More than two decades of being the leading authority on classic film turned TCM into one of the highest-viewed television networks on cable. But to create a new generation of classic movie fans in the cord-cutting and digital media era, TCM had to evolve to meet a younger audience. Through innovative storytelling on social media, linear programming and experiential marketing, TCM overhauled their strategy to recontextualize, reframe and refresh their content.
This panel discussion will explore how the brand has successfully used content you may not expect to connect with younger audiences, particularly Gen Z, and how the brand tackles head-on some of the outdated and problematic depictions in classic films that have traditionally pushed newer generations away.
