AgroTech Innovators Tackling Africa's Food Crisis
For the first time in decades, global hunger is on the rise, fueled by COVID, conflict and climate change. Long term solutions to food security are urgently needed. Nowhere is this more pressing than Africa: the continent imports $35 billion of food annually and is home to the world’s largest youth population. Youth are key to building the tech-enabled food systems of the future. Two agri-entrepreneurs reimagining smallholder food production — Jehiel Oliver, CEO of Hello Tractor, a tractor-sharing program in sub-Saharan Africa, and Jemimah Wanjiku, co-founder of digital vet service DigiCow in Kenya — join Adesuwa Ifedi from Heifer International, creators of an agritech investment competition for young innovators, to discuss tackling hunger by scaling up Africa's food production.
