Startups Are Helping Automakers Realize Bigger EVs Aren’t Better

Date TBA

American automakers have to change their “bigger is better” mentality when it comes to designing vehicles. It won’t make EVs more powerful or affordable, it will just delay net-zero. The battery in an electric Hummer, for example, weighs more than a Honda Civic. A 10,000 lb battery is ridiculous for so many reasons, but mainly points to the fact that car makers need help from startups. In this talk, Exro CEO Sue Ozdemir will challenge corporate executives to rethink how they achieve power and encourage startups to foster “disciplined innovation”. She will also discuss the evolving relationship between car makers and their suppliers, as well as identify strategic design opportunities that carmakers and startups can pursue collaboratively in order to overcome challenges to electrification.
