For decades, athletes have recognized that their platform holds the potential for pushing for massive social change. In the last several years, we've seen the renaissance boom as these cultural leaders work hard to push for tangible change in their local communities– pushing for more progressive elected leaders, better police oversight, and policies that build up communities. Lesser known than their business endeavors, athletes across the country and across leagues have been quietly working to change laws and reform systems surrounding injustice. This panel brings together sport and social justice as a rare insight into how athletes impact and innovate for their communities, and how they can best leverage their power to create a better, more equitable world.
