A Conversation with Eric Deggans
A freewheeling conversation on the future of entertainment, race in media and exciting upcoming film and TV projects with Eric Deggans, NPR’s first TV critic. Deggans is an award-winning media and culture critic with 30 years’ experience. His book, “Race-Baiter: How Media Wields Dangerous Words to Divide a Nation,” deftly predicted how some media outlets use racism and prejudice to build ratings and profits. As a journalist, he’s done everything from shadowing Tonight Show bandleader Questlove for a story to guest hosting CNN’s media analysis show Reliable Sources. He’ll be interviewed by Bill Adair, founder of the fact-checking site PolitiFact, in a conversation that will cover entertainment trends, journalism issues, diversity in media and much more.
