Symbiosis is exhibiting in the XR Experience: http://schedule.sxsw.com/2023/films/2081767
How cold is a stone in VR? How soft is the skin of your avatar? Every new medium aims to offer a more intense and realistic version of reality, but what happens if XR becomes truly sensory? How tangible, messy and smelly do we want it to be? In other words, can we have our metaverse and eat it too? For its 15th SXSW showcase, DocLab celebrates the art of sensory XR and the physical human experience. With founder Caspar Sonnen sharing key learnings from DocLab’s R&D Program with MIT, and a live showcase by the pioneering immersive studio Polymorf. After redefining sensory art with Famous Deaths and Thermocorpus, they now present Symbiosis at SXSW, an XR installation that mixes scent, food, hormones, inflatable soft robotics and AI into a mindblowing full-body experience.
