Classical Music - Embracing the Modern Audience

Recording: Classical Music - Embracing the Modern Audience, Date TBA

In the modern era of music and content consumption, new generations are being introduced to classical music through novel avenues. In this panel, leading industry voices will wrestle with the future of the genre in its existing form, its extension into alternative classical, and how we can embrace today's audience. From the digital perspective, we will explore the role of vertical video and how it affects streaming numbers and record sales, the trend of aesthetic/mood based playlisting, as well as the contribution of social media influencers to the democratization of classical music. The panel will also explore the strengths and limitations of the live concert experience, how we can build on audience numbers and how technology can help to present the genre in an accessible and engaging way. The panel is organized by ARTISTS& in anticipation of their classical showcase at Esther’s Follies on March 16th, where these discussions will be brought to life.
