This panel is for Actors, Producers, Directors, Department Heads, and anyone interested in the discipline of coordinating intimate scenes for film and TV. With the ever expanding landscape of streaming services, this is a new golden age of television which brings with it much more daring storytelling and more nudity and simulated sex than ever before. Please join working Intimacy Coordinators Regina Banali (Founder of ICAFT) and Laura Rikard (Co-Founder of Theatrical Intimacy Education) as they discuss the role of the Intimacy Coordinator within this new film and TV landscape.
This panel will discuss our experiences working on set with actors and directors to create honest, realistic depictions of intimacy, while ensuring actors’ boundaries are protected. We’ll cover the process, expectations, dos and don’ts for the audition process, boundaries, modesty garments, nudity riders, on set etiquette, masking, choreography, and the benefits of working with a qualified intimacy coordinator. If you have ever wondered about what it’s like, please bring your questions!
