Featured Session: Daniel Lubetzky on Our Role in Overcoming America’s Division
Daniel Lubetzky is a proud Mexican Jewish American best known for founding and building KIND Snacks into a multi-billion-dollar global brand. A pioneer of social entrepreneurship, Daniel entered the food industry through his work to use business to foster peace between neighbors in conflict. Drawing on his experience building the largest grassroots movement of moderates in the Middle East, Daniel is taking his (some would say impossible) theory of change to the United States, where he and 200 foremost leaders have ignited a non-partisan civic movement, Starts With Us. While the initiative seeks to stop extremist attitudes (enabled by divisive media and power-hungry politicians) from hijacking the lives of the moderate majority (87% of us to be exact), Daniel says these forces alone aren’t to blame. Interviewed by telecommunications entrepreneur, political commentator, and Starts With Us movement partner, Kmele Foster, Daniel is ready to get candid and unfiltered about the concrete and creative ways that we – all Americans – can set an example for our leaders to follow. If we succeed, we can seize back the agenda. If we fail, the consequences could be grave.
