Samm Henshaw at British Music Embassy @ The Courtyard
The son of a reverend, Samm Henshaw grew up on gospel music and began writing worship songs for church at the age of 15. Naming Kirk Franklin, Lauryn Hill, and Marvin Gaye among his early inspirations, he made his acclaimed debut with a 2015 EP called The Sound Experiment (followed by The Sound Experiment 2 in 2016), and soon began touring with such artists as James Bay and Rag’N’Bone Man. Over the coming years, he made waves with singles like 2018’s “Broke” and 2019’s “Church”—a high-powered collaboration with Atlanta-based duo EARTHGANG that’s amassed over 30 million Spotify streams to date. in 2022 Henshaw released his debut album 'Untidy Soul' which saw Samm gain global recognition for his limitless abilities as a musician, and the outcome was a timeless album bursting with love and soul. A tipping point came for him came pre-release when he got to perform on James Corden's late show, and he finally started to understand just how far this album could truly go. The incredible success of Untidy Soul led to a global tour which kicked off with a sold-out Shepherd Bush Empire show and took him across the US and to Asia.
