A multi-disciplinary visionary - the Sandflower sound is eclectic and powerful with a mystical essence.

Fascinated by quantum physics, inspired by high fashion and fine art, Sandflower speaks to those who stand out because they’re different. And her message is to embrace that difference.

Sandflower was born in Brooklyn, New York, to a Rock & Roll singer and a visual artist.

She often spent her nights doing homework and studying for school exams in a small bedroom above CBGBs while her mother performed with the likes of Johnny Rotten, Debbie Harry and Jeff Buckley. 

The dichotomy of her private school upbringing and immersion in the New York music scene exposed her to different ways of seeing the world, which has informed her unique musical style, as she explains;

“As one of a handful of students of color at an elite school, I always stood out and was seen as being different. On top of that, my Mom would take me to ashrams to meditate, which wasn’t mainstream at the time. And then there was this constant exposure to these brilliantly different, successful people that I was surrounded by in the music industry.  So my whole life has been about standing out.
